ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists. |

| ELIGIBLE WORKS 1. Prints on paper only (no other surfaces allowed). 2. Size of the paper shall not exceed 100 cm. x 100 cm. (40in. x 40in.). 3. All works should be created after January 2003, be original and not have been shown at any exhibitions elsewhere. 4. Each artist is allowed to submit a maximum of three works. If the entrant lives outside Japan, an entry fee is NOT required. Those residing in Japan will pay 5,000 yen regardless of the number of works they submit. 5. Entrants residing in Japan should send the entry fee by postal money order transfer to: Account No.:01660-0-54981 Name: TOSA WASHI INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE • If the entry fee is not paid during the application period, then the corresponding works will not be judged and will be returned to the artist at his/her expense. • The entry fee is non-refundable. |

| ENTRY PROCEDURES 1. Works should not be shipped with frames. They should either be encased in plastic/cardboard tubes or inserted between strong flat boards. The sticker enclosed with this information packet must be placed on the face of each package. Overseas entries should be sent by air mail as "Printed Matter", bearing the declaration "No Commercial value". 2. The EXHIBIT FORM must be pasted on the back of each work. 3. It is the applicant's responsibility to insure his/her own works (if so desired). 4. Works must be sent together with attached forms fully completed. 5. All insurance costs and shipping expenses incurred during delivery shall be borne by the entrant. |

| RETURN OF PRINTS 1. Prints shall be returned in the same wrapping material that they were received in. 2. Rejected works shall be sent back to artists within 50 days after the judges decision. 3. Accepted works (other than those receiving awards) shall be returned to artists within 30 days after the exhibition is over. 4. Overseas entries should be accompanied by 18 international postal coupons to cover the cost of the return of the work. Entrants wishing to donate their work need not send postage. Please note that if postage is not included it will be assumed that the work has been donated, and as such, cannot be returned. 5. In case works are returned to the Committee due to uncertainty of addresses and name; the Committee shall assume that the participants have abandoned ownership and will dispose of the works freely after a certain period of time. |

| AWARDS First Prize: 1 of 1,000,000 yen Second Prize: 1 or 2 of 500,000 yen Third Prize: several of 300,000 yen Fourth Prize: several of 200,000 yen Takao Hiwasaki Prize: 1 of 300,000 yen (Takao Hiwasaki (1941-1992) was born and raised in Kochi Prefecture. A great printmaker, he worked very hard to help establish the Kochi Triennia.l) TOSA WASHI PRIZE
Number Several Award 300,000 yen and "Tosa washi" Paper (worth about 100,000 yen) (Tosa Washi is Japanese Paper made in Kochi Prefecture.) • Those works not using Tosa Washi are excluded from this newly created prize. Please make sure you write down clearly Tosa Washi on the ENTRY FORM and the EXHIBIT FORM. The Committee reserves the right to not award prizes should there be no outstanding works. * Prints that have been given an award shall be retained by the Organizing Committee and Sponsors. |

MISCELLANEOUS
1. The Committee retains the rights to photograph and print photographs of prize winning works and selected works for use in catalogues, public relations and advertisements. 2. Works shall be handled with every possible care. However, the Organizing Committee shall not be responsible for any unforeseen loss, theft or damage incurred during handling. 3. The Entry Form and other forms must be completed fully in BLOCK letters. 4. Photocopies will be accepted. 5. Overseas works shall not be for sale at the exhibition. |
